History
“Wiertła Baildon” Spółka z o. o., founded in 1998 through the transformation of the Baildon Steel Mill’s Drill Bit Plant, which had been in operation since 1908. The company manufactures high-quality drill bits made of molybdenum and cobalt high-speed steel, as well as drill bits and shank cutters made of cemented carbide (monolithic) or with cemented carbide lining. Our drill bits feature the “BHH” mark, which is the first trademark used by the Baildon Steel Mill, founded in 1823. The abbreviation stands for the name of the Steel Mill’s founder, John Baildon and its subsequent owner, Hegenscheidt. The symbol is recognized by our clients, both domestic and international, as it guarantees the highest quality tools delivered time after time.
Production
Currently, the Company manufactures about 50 types of drill bits, including more than 16,000 type dimensions within a diameter range from 0.25 to 100 mm, and a wide assortment of special drill bits. We also manufacture drill bits and cutters from monolithic cemented carbide. The basic assortment of our drill bits includes: bits intended for the treatment of steel and cast iron, hard machinable steel, stainless steel, heat-proof steel, sheet metal, non-ferrous metals (copper, zinc, brass, aluminum), glass, marble, plastics, and custom-made drill bits designed according to the client’s requirements and documentation.
To improve the performance of the drill bit, it undergoes multiple refining treatments, such as: passivation and coating with a TIN, TiAlN and AlTiN layers. The company also provides services in the sharpening, heat treatment, machining, and manufacture of specialist tools and instruments. Using the highest quality materials (steel, sinter and coating) purchased from renowned suppliers, we are able to manufacture drill bits suitable for the most heavy-duty conditions.
